Dr. Andreas von der Gathen is Senior Partner and Member of the Board with Simon-Kucher in Bonn. He is the Global Head of the company's Consumer and Retail Practice. In these fields he carried out projects dealing with price and allowance optimization, the development of marketing and brand strategies as well as the valuation of brands. He especially focuses on the interface between marketing and controlling. In various projects he directly accompanied the implementation of new strategies.
Andreas von der Gathen is a lecturer with IIR, Management Circle und Management Forum and has a teaching position for Controlling at the private University of applied science for Economics and Management (FOM). He is the author of several books and articles.
Before joining Simon-Kucher, Andreas von der Gathen studied economics and business administration at the University of Bochum with an emphasis on auditing, controlling und marketing. After receiving his Diplom-Ökonom degree he worked as an academic assistant at the Chair of Marketing, University of Bochum. In addition to his work concerning the valuation of brands (Ph.D. thesis: "Brand valuation in controlling and auditing") he managed numerous projects concerning reorganisation and process optimization as well as brand strategy (repositioning and introduction of brands). His Ph.D. thesis was awarded with the Gebrüder-Deschauer-Preis of the University of Bochum.
